Meeting with Director of the Energy Community Secretariat
On Monday, 27th March 2023 General Director of Independent System Operator in BiH Nemanja Pandurević participated in the meeting between Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, Staša Košarac, Director of the Energy Community Secretariat Artur Lorkowski, Minister of Energy and Mining of the Republika Srpska Petar Đokić and Minster of Energy, Mining and Industry of the Federation BiH Nermin Džindić.
One of the meeting’s topics was amendments to the Law on Transmission of Electric Power, Regulator and System Operator of BiH with the purpose of establishing an organized electricity market. It was further agreed that by the end of the month a working group would be formed comprising representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and relevant entity ministries that would consider remarks and proposals concerning amendments to the Law as proposed by the Energy Community. It was stated that the working group would complete this task by the end of April and thus the proposed amendments to the Law on Transmission of Electric Power, Regulator and System Operator of BiH would be submitted to parliamentary procedure in May.
It was stressed that there is the need for establishing cooperation between the Energy Community and Energy Regulator in the Republika Srpska and Operator for Renewable Energy Sources in the Federation BiH in terms of recognition of certificates of origin within the Energy Community and the entire European Union. The purpose of the recognition is to provide the opportunity for domestic energy producers to earn additional value.
