SERC issued a new license for the work of NOSBiH

The State Electricity Regulatory Commission has issued a new license for the activities of the Independent System Operator in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which applies from 1st July, 2026, and will be valid until 30th June 2033.

As the owner of the license, NOSBiH is authorized to carry out its activities established by the Law on Transmission, Regulator and Operator of the Electricity System in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Law on the Establishment of NOS, which refers to the management of the operation of all high-voltage transmission devices in Bosnia and Herzegovina with a voltage level of 110 kV or more and the management of the balancing energy market in BiH.

In addition, the regular activity of NOSBiH includes, among other things, the determination of the indicative generation development plan and the review, approval and revision of the long-term transmission system development plan. NOSBiH is also in charge of harmonizing the operation of the transmission network with the technical requirements of the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity ENTSO-E as well as the requirements related to the balancing energy market. NOSBiH is also required to develop and implement regulations related to international electricity trade and to monitor the application of the Network Code and Market Rules.
