General Director of Independent System Operator in Bosnia and Herzegovina Nemanja Pandurević, attended the meeting held on 9th April 2025 at the Energy Community Secretariat in Vienna, Austria, as a member of the delegation from BiH made up of Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Staša Košarac, Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining of the Republika Srpska Petar Đokić, Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining of the Federation BiH Vedran Lakić and Director of the Secretariat of the Energy Community Artur Lorkowski.
Significant progress was made at this meeting concerning fulfilment of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s obligations in the field of energy. After several years of negotiations and work, the Law on Transmission of Electric Power, Regulator and System Operator of BiH was agreed upon, while its preparation has been lasting from 2017.
Adoption of this law is the key step in the process of harmonization with the acquis of the European Union in the field of energy and one of the preconditions for exemption of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the application of the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
Independent System Operator in BiH continues to actively contribute to reform processes in the field of energy with the aim of strengthening integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Regional and European energy market.
