The presidents of the National CIGRE Committees from Around the World Visited NOSBiH

The meeting of the Administrative Council of the International Council on Large Electric Systems (CIGRE), headquartered in Paris, was held for the first time in Sarajevo on September 26th and 27th. The meeting, hosted by the Bosnian-Herzegovinian Committee of CIGRE, led by president Edhem Bičakčić, was attended by the presidents of national CIGRE committees from around the world. The International Council on Large Electric Systems comprises 61 national committees, and representatives from 71 countries participated in the work of the Administrative Council.

As part of the “Technical Tour”, the members of the Administrative Council visited the Dispatch Center of the Independent System Operator in Bosnia and Herzegovina on September 27, 2023. They were acquainted with the operation and management methods, as well as the characteristics of the power system in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the two-day CIGRE meeting in Sarajevo, the budget and financial operations, the work of study committees, and preparations for the regular consultation of the International CIGRE in 2024 in Paris was discussed.

The focus was on the revision of strategic plans aimed at ensuring CIGRE’s leadership in the analysis of energy systems for all the stakeholders, considering that the energy transition will bring significant changes to the operation of energy systems.

Goran Slipac, President of the Croatian Committee of CIGRE, emphasized that there should be no major issues in the production and supply of electrical energy during the upcoming winter.
